Dignity, respect and well-being for our older adults

What is the Kaigo method?

Kaigo is not just assisting a person; is a Japanese philosophy and methodology of comprehensive care that seeks to preserve the autonomy of older adults, respecting their space, their decisions and their dignity. At the Emmanuel Association, we apply this concept in our Nursing Home, transforming daily care into an act of deep respect and humanity.

The Pillars of Kaigo in Emmanuel

Artboard 15

Preservation of Autonomy

We do not do things for the elderly if they can still do them; We support and encourage you to maintain your independence for as long as possible.
Artboard 14

Respect for Dignity

Each person has an individual history, tastes and rhythms. Care adapts to the resident, never the other way around.
Artboard 6

Comprehensive Wellbeing

The method encompasses physical health, emotional support, cognitive stimulation and social integration within the community.
Artboard 2

Bilateral Cooperation

We implement techniques and standards inspired by Japan's social welfare system, warmly adapted to the Peruvian reality.

How do we apply it? Our Care Services

Specialized Assistance

Implementamos técnicas y estándares inspirados en el sistema de bienestar social de Japón, adaptados con calidez a la realidad peruana.

Stimulation Workshops

Cognitive activities, crafts and dynamics that promote the encounter between cultures (Peruvian and Nikkei) and keep the mind active.

Safe and Adapted Spaces

Infrastructure designed under the concept of universal accessibility, reducing architectural barriers to guarantee safety.

The Link to the Legacy of Father Kato

El cuidado es sinónimo de humanidad.
Following the Franciscan example of the R.P. Manuel Kato, the Kaigo in our institution is not limited to a technical service; It is the continuation of a mission of love and compassion towards the most vulnerable, ensuring that the last stage of their lives is lived with the utmost dignity.
